OC OsteoBraid™ is a braided suture used for arthroscopic surgery due to its superior strength, ease of use and minimal tissue reaction. It is made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) material, making it incredibly strong, durable and smaller in diameter than other sutures. Additionally, its abrasion and shear properties make it incredibly resistant to friction and cuts, making it ideal for arthroscopic sutures. Its tensile strength also makes it great for reducing the risk of suture breakage. It also allows for smooth passage through tissue. It can be easily tied and provide secure knotting. It is available in different colours for greater visibility and efficiency during arthroscopy procedures. It is available with and without needle options.
